UsMend Privacy Policy

UsMend ("we", "us") takes user privacy seriously. This policy describes how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information, and the rights you have over that information.

By using the UsMend service you confirm that you have read and agreed to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

This product serves users globally. We aim to comply with applicable privacy requirements based on where you are located and which laws apply.

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: email address and nickname, if entered at sign-up
• Content you enter: rewrite drafts, AI conversations, relationship-space notes, and generated outputs
• Content you actively share: emotional records you explicitly place into a shared space, visible to your partner

Information we collect automatically:

• IP address for security, abuse rate-limiting, and—only on the advertising page—ad delivery and anti-fraud
• Approximate browser and device technical information, such as user agent, for security, debugging, and compatibility
• Anonymous usage events, referrer/page information, usage time, and frequency for product analytics and service improvement
• Anonymous identifiers stored in cookies or localStorage for login state, free quotas, abuse prevention, and basic analytics

Information we do NOT collect:

• We do not require your real name, phone number, or precise location
• We do not sell your personal information or use your private content for ad targeting

We do not sell, rent, or exchange your personal information, and we do not use your private content for ad targeting. The limited technical data processed by the ad provider is described below.

Your rewrite drafts and conversation content are transmitted over an encrypted connection to the language-model service provider we use for processing. The provider:

• Is bound by its own privacy policy
• Does not receive your real name, email, or contact information through us
• Where supported by its terms and available settings, is configured by us not to use your content to train models

Our optional rewarded ads appear only on the /earn page. When you visit that page or choose to watch an ad, Google may process your IP address, device or browser identifiers, cookies, local storage, consent choices, ad interactions, and anti-fraud signals to provide, measure, and protect ads, subject to your choices. We do not send your rewrite drafts, AI chats, memories, relationship-space content, name, or email to Google for ad targeting.

For users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, we use Google's consent management platform for advertising choices. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time through “Privacy and cookie settings.”

Our servers and third-party services may be located outside your country or region. Where cross-border processing occurs, we use reasonable safeguards required by applicable law.

• Data is stored in cloud databases protected by access controls
• All transmission is encrypted with TLS
• We use industry-standard measures to prevent unauthorized access, but we cannot guarantee absolute security
• In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within the legally required period

• While your account is active: we retain your data to continue providing service
• After account deletion: all your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, during which you may cancel the deletion
• Some data (e.g., abuse records) may be retained longer where required by law

Regardless of where you are located, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: Know what data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate personal information
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your account and all data
• Right to portability: Request your data in a common format
• Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent you previously gave at any time
• Right to complain: File a complaint with your local data protection authority

UsMend is intended for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through in-app notice or email. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
